Year 5H News 2013

On Monday 23rd June, 6 pupils from Year 5 attended the annual Colfes Debating competition. The teams were Giacomo and Phoebe, Rafferty and Aoife, and Rhys and Olivia. Congratulations to all the children in KS2, who put on a fantastic production of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr last week! The children have worked hard rehearsing for the show this term and it certainly paid off – the acting and singing were superb and everyone gave brilliant performances on the night. We’re already looking forward to next year’s production!

On our Christmas party day, not only did the children play fun dancing games but we also had a visit from Santa and a circus performer! The children seemed very pleased with their Top Trumps cards and enjoyed learning how to balance peacock feathers and learn many other circus tricks. On Friday 29th November Years 3 – 6 delighted parents and staff with beautiful carol singing, and Christmas bible readings. Miss Kemp as always ably prepared and led the choir, incorporating a wonderful variety of traditional classics and modern carols. The final medley including ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ and ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’, complete with Christmas hats and bells was the highlight for most!

Thank you for all joining in with our Christmas Jumper Day! It was a wonderfully festive occasion, the jumpers were all fantastic and it was incredibly difficult to choose the winners this year. On Thursday 5th December, Year 5 and 6 went to visit the residents of Morden College to sing our carols. A great time was had by all! After the singing, we enjoyed cakes and biscuits, whilst chatting with all the residents.
