Class 1A 2016

The Pointer School transformed into a place of curious characters and creatures on World Book Day. Both sites had a parade where the pupils displayed their wonderful costumes of characters from tales old and new. Classes celebrated the day by doing all sorts of creative literary activities. As Roald Dahl would say, the day was simply “gloriumptious and whoospy whiffling”!

Congratulations to Mark & Tania Hodges, Caroline & Simon Frankau and Tara & Zachary Veitch, winners of the 2017 school quiz. They narrowly beat a team of Pointers staff into second place with a winning score of 55. Both Early Years and the Main School got to enjoy Pancake Day thanks to the PFG, their frying pans and spatulas! The PFG has been launched by a group of parents from the school to raise funds to enhance the existing playgrounds.  Pancake Day was their first fund-raising event which went very well. Thanks to all the parents for their support.

We had a fantastic day at the V and A Museum of Childhood and the children were a real credit to the school. It is a wonderful museum that fits in perfectly with our History topic ‘Toys in the Past’. Last Sunday 18th September was the first competition for the Kent Grand Prix (first Chess event of the academic year 2016/2017). Pointers had a very inexperienced but promising team. Four boys from Pointers school took part in the event: Stakhey & Evan in the Under 10 section and Max & David in the Under 8 section.
