Summer 2020 Information

The Pointer School Holiday Club will run during Summer 2020. From 6th July for Keyworker children and the 20th July for all others.

We have worked hard to ensure that Holiday Club is a COVID secure environment. This includes enhanced cleaning routines, segregated bubbles, reduced hours, advanced booking requirements and changes to collection and dropoff routines.

For Summer 2020 Government guidelines require that we keep children in fixed bubbles of no more than 15 children. These bubbles can not be mixed at all throughout the whole holiday. Therefore, in order to make this financially viable, we have had to introduce a minimum booking requirement of 15 days for non-keyworker children.

Drop-Off Times

  • Keyworker children: 08:00 – 08:30
  • Bubble A: 08:30 – 08:45
  • Bubble B: 08:45 – 09:00

Collection Times

  • Bubble A: 16:00 – 16:15
  • Bubble B: 16:15 – 16:30
  • Keyworker children: 16:30 – 17:00

FAQs

Attending Holiday Club

I am unable to dropoff/collect my child during the specified times, can I arrange a different time?

No, you must drop off and collect your child during the specified time slots. This is to allow us to maintain the bubble system and also to ensure that children are able to use the outdoor playground as much as possible. Dropping off your child early or late may result in refused entry.

What should I do if I am running late due to issues beyond my control?

Please contact us as soon as possible (0208 858 7977) to discuss if we will still be able to accommodate your child on that day.

What if my child has an appointment during the day?

If you are unable to keep to the specified pickup and dropoff times on a particular day your child will not be able to attend. Regrettably, we are not able to offer dropoffs or pickups during the day. In these circumstances, refunds will not be provided.

Is lunch provided?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide food. Please send your child with a packed lunch. Packed lunches must be free of whole nuts and nut spreads. We are unable to reheat food.

What should my child bring?

Please send your child to holiday club each day with a packed lunch (see above) and a refillable water bottle. You may also pack a fruit snack. In the case of wet weather please pack a waterproof jacket. In hot weather, we advise you send your child with a sun hat or cap.

Booking Holiday Club

Can I book a book half or shorter days?

Due to the current situation, all bookings must be for full days and you must adhere to your bubbles drop off and collection time.

Why do I need to book 15 days, I don’t need that many?

The government guidelines for out of school settings require us to keep children in fixed bubbles of no more than 15. During this time we have many if not more of our normal overheads. Therefore to maintain financial viability we are requiring children to be book for a minimum of 15 days.

Do my 15 days need to be in one block?

No, you can spread your 15 days out across the holiday as you require. Safe in the knowledge that when your child does attend they will be with the same 14 other pupils.

I don’t need 15 days can I book less

Unfortunately no, there is a minimum requirement to book 15 days. You may book 15 days and attend less but you must book for and pay a minimum of 15.

What if I don’t use my 15 days can I get a refund on the unused days?

No, any unused days are non-refundable.

What if I just book less than 15 days?

Bookings of less than 15 days will be cancelled and refunded minus a 10% transaction fee.

Do you accept Child Care Vouchers?

Yes we do! Please select the pay by invoice option when checking out. Please note your place will not be confirmed until we receive remittance from your Child Care Voucher provider.

How far in advance do I/can I book?

Bookings will be open for the entire summer at once. All bookings require at least 7 days notice. This is to allow us to properly plan and arrange the correct staffing.

Can I get a refund?

Places (above the 15 days minimum or for key workers) can be refunded as long as they are cancelled at least 7 days in advance. Bookings cancelled with less than 7 days notice cannot be refunded.
