Year 5/6 Football

Our year 5/6 football team recently visited Blackheath Prep for two games. There was some excellent play from both teams in the first half and it was looking to be a very evenly matched games with both the A team and the B team finishing the first half 1-1. During the second half Blackheath Prep’s A team come out the stronger of the two teams and started to be a lot more clinical with their finishes. The A team match finished with a win of 4-1 for Blackheath Prep. In the B team game, however, the Pointers team was a lot sharper than Blackheath Prep. The team managed to score 3 more goals in the second half, winning the match 4-1. Well done to all the boys who took part in both games!

Girls Football

We had our first girls football fixture against Blackheath Prep. Some of our girls have never played a competitive game of football before, but they were all very excited to play this game! The first half Blackheath Prep did look the stronger of the 2 sides and managed to put 3 of their chances in the back of the net. There was however, some excellent defending from the girls making some great tackles and blocks to stop the prep scoring. In the second half the girls seemed to settle down a little bit and started to pass the ball around more and started to create a few more opportunities of what we were able to score one. Eventually the game finished with a 6-1 loss, however, this was the first game the girls had ever played together. They all gave 100% effort and they all really enjoyed the game. Well done girls!
