The Pointer School is a thriving co-educational school for boys and girls aged 3-11 with an outstanding reputation for delivering a traditional yet exciting education within a Christian framework. In October 2014 the Independent Schools Inspectorate found Pointers to be ‘Excellent’ in all areas.

Year two had a fantastic day exploring the Tower of London. It was so wonderful to hear the children remembering so much information that we have covered in class prior to the trips and being so engaged and interested throughout the day. The children enjoyed a great workshop ran by Duncan and helped him clean the King’s bedroom! After that we explored The Crown Jewels and the White Tower!

This week Reception took a walk to the local Library. First, we sat and listened to the Librarian who told us all about the different types of books in the Library. What a fantastic trip Year 4 visiting the Centre of the Cell based at Queen Mary University in Whitechapel. It was a very scintillating experience; educational and fun! The children learnt about cells, identified cancerous tissue, played interactive games healing burns and much, much more. The day ended with a workshop on teeth, which really helped to consolidate work done in class. Year 3 recently travelled back in time to the Stone Age when we visited Kent Life.  The children had fun meeting a Stone Age hunter, grinding wheat to make flour, making their own Cave Paintings, and even experimenting with Stone Age weapons by firing paper stones from sling shots at their teachers!

Year 3- Pointers v Blackheath Prep Our new year 3 football team recently had their first local fixture against Blackheath Prep. In the A team game, Pointers started off extremely quickly, playing some excellent two-touch football which was great to watch and worked well at keeping the ball away from the opposition. Congratulations to the Year 3  football team who recently won the Royal Russell A-Team football tournament!   The first fixture was against Lingfield College, which the boys eventually won 2-0 after a slow start. The second fixture was the toughest fixture of them all, with Pointers coming up against Royal Russell ‘A’ team.
